Why Ji Xia?
Pros:
- Exceptional Off-Field Damage/Break Output: Ji Xia’s damage and break output via his passive skill is exceptionally high, exceeding even Viola’s.
- Equally Effective On Field: Ji Xia can also just deal high damage on field. Because of course he can.
- Quick, Highly Mobile Rotation: Ji Xia’s rotation is extremely quick, similar to Viola, but he also can dash/teleport with his skill 1/2 respectively giving him a level of safety and mobility no other breaker has.
- Easy Stasis Application: Arguably the best elemental anomaly in the game, Stasis can temporarily leave enemies frozen in place. Ji Xia can apply this effect from off field very quickly thanks to his passive skill.
- Insane Ultimate: Ji Xia’s ultimate deals great damage, heals the team, and also applies an anomaly effect on top of it. It pretty much does everything you could ever want.
Cons:
- Poor Combo Capabilities: Once you activate combo state, Ji Xia is transformed into a very awkward single target DPS. It’s best to avoid using Ji Xia in combo state unless you’re specifically using him vs single enemy boss stages and even then it’s not great.
Final Verdict
Q: Should you pull for Ji Xia?
A: Yes!
Ji Xia is an extremely powerful breaker who can deal high amounts of damage and break from off field, quickly apply water anomaly (and thus, Stasis), and has an extremely fast rotation. His ultimate has a massive area of effect, deals great damage, and even heals the whole team for some reason. He’s effectively Viola 2 with more damage and an arguably better anomaly element/effect, allowing you to have one solid breaker on each team if you have Viola as well. His only real issue is his somewhat weak dupes; P1 is great, but P2-P4 aren’t exactly award winning.
Thankfully, his P0 performance is more than adequate for our currently available content and (while we can’t exactly guess how power creep will work in the future) his set and forget fast gameplay and element should make him less prevalent to being immediately replaced.
