The words his mother habitually said tightened around Lucas's heart.

The manager left with those few words.

The second visitor was his mother, Kirlia.

"You truly are a person of the great Florance family. I am so proud of you."

At Kirlia's words, the Weapon in Lucas's hand pulsed red.

A few coins, a trophy made of a little gold, the cheers of the crowd.

Compared to his mother's recognition, those things were nothing more than pebbles on the street.

The day he received his mother's recognition became the most important moment for Lucas.

Only proof signifies dignity and authority, and it was the day he was recognized by his mother through that proof.

Years later, at the jousting tournament that came around again, Lucas was able to win by defeating even the official knight of Pereus.

All of this was the result of efforts made in pursuit of proof.

"Even if they are official knights, they are merely people under Parsel's command, still incompetent."

The lance in Lucas's hand burned with arrogance.
