Introduction

Wraith Wraith is the first non-standard five-star Ventus Vanguard in Stella Sora — and the clearest evidence yet that the Ventus element is ready for high-end competition. She doesn't reach the absolute peak of the current meta held by Shia Shia and Fuyuka Fuyuka , but she represents a massive upgrade over existing Ventus options and establishes herself as the premier on-field Ventus carry.

What makes Wraith genuinely unusual is her dual playstyle architecture: two entirely separate Potential trees that pivot her from a high-mobility close-range fighter to a precision long-range sniper. Most characters adapt to conditions; Wraith has two fully distinct combat identities to choose from.

Character Profile

Attribute Value
Element Ventus
Class Vanguard
Attack Type Ranged
Rarity 5-Star (Limited)

Core Mechanic: Skill Charges & Distance Scaling

Wraith's kit revolves around skill charge management. Her Main Skill Whirling Onslaught operates on a short 3-second cooldown, generating charges and enabling one of two combat modes depending on which Potential tree is equipped:

  • Melee (close range): Auto-attack combos spawn tracking Whirlwinds that provide 100% field uptime on Ventus Mark triggers. Dump all three charges at encounter start, then keep two charges in reserve at all times to maintain constant tornado presence.
  • Ranged (long range): Main Skill bullets transform into laser beams scaling off Skill DMG. Patience is required — wait for Scorching Gale to reach at least 6 stacks before spending regained charges to maximise the burst coefficient.

Her Support Skill Rolling Bungee deals multi-hit damage and generates Cyclones. Her Ultimate Thousand Shade Dance deploys a large-area field, zips through it to attack, then detonates the field for sweeping AoE damage — its near-screen-wide coverage makes it nearly impossible to miss, ideal for mob clears and burst windows alike.

Skills

Swish and Fire — Auto Attack

Attacks targets differently at different distances: melee hits with bayonet slashes, ranged hits with gunfire. The split scaling between the two modes is the foundation of Wraith's entire dual-playstyle identity.

Whirling Onslaught — Main Skill

Spins rapidly to slash and fires bullets in all directions, dealing AoE damage. Can trigger Ventus Mark and generate a Cyclone. The 3-second cooldown is the shortest of any Skill in the current roster — the engine driving both playstyles.

Rolling Bungee — Support Skill

Rolls, slashes, and shoots for multiple damage instances. Can trigger Ventus Mark and generate a Cyclone. The support Potential trees significantly alter this skill's behaviour: one adds a tracking Tornado, the other transforms it into a horizontal sweep or laser burst.

Thousand Shade Dance — Ultimate

Deploys a field, zips across it to attack, then detonates in a massive AoE. Can trigger Ventus Mark and generate a Cyclone. Energy efficiency is high — treat this as a reliable filler that keeps Ventus Mark cycling and Potential procs running between Skill activations.

Skill Upgrade Priority

Main Skill > Auto Attack (Melee) / Main Skill > Skill (Ranged) | Ultimate last

  • Melee build: Prioritise Auto Attack upgrades. The tornado triggers scale directly off auto-attack levels — this is the overwhelming majority of the build's DPS.
  • Ranged build: Prioritise Main Skill upgrades. Laser beams and Scorching Gale mechanics are Skill DMG-based; every level raises the burst ceiling.
  • Ultimate last: Efficient as-is thanks to wide AoE; playstyle-specific skills define competitive viability, not the Ultimate.

Potentials & Builds

Build 1: The Melee Whirlwind

High-mobility, close-range AoE. Recommended starting build for most players.

Wraith Wraith Recommended Potentials
Last Gasp of Gale

Last Gasp of Gale

Lv. 6

For a short duration after the Main Skill is cast, combo slashes of Auto Attacks can generate a Whirlwind to deal DMG. The Whirlwind can track and attack enemies.

Twin Shadows

Twin Shadows

Lv. 6

When casting the Main Skill, generates multiple Whirlwinds to deal DMG. The Whirlwind can increase its Attack Range over time.

Zero Hour

Zero Hour

Lv. 6

The Main Skill's slashes can block enemy projectile attacks. Increases Wraith's DMG dealt to nearby targets.

Blade's Waltz

Blade's Waltz

Lv. 6

Increases the Skill DMG dealt by the Main Skill's slashes. Increases Wraith's Auto Attack DMG.

Rapid Draw

Rapid Draw

Lv. 6

When the Main Skill's slashes deal DMG, increases Auto Attack DMG.

Last Gasp of Gale and Twin Shadows are the twin pink cores: they spawn multiple tracking Whirlwinds on every Main Skill cast, providing essentially constant Ventus Mark application and field-clearing AoE pressure. Zero Hour adds projectile-blocking during skill animations — Wraith can ignore ranged mechanics that force other Vanguards to retreat, a genuinely rare defensive utility. Blade's Waltz and Rapid Draw extend the damage chain through auto-attack scaling.

Recommended Flex Potentials (Both Builds)

Wraith Wraith Recommended Potentials
Dauntless Poise

Dauntless Poise

Lv. 6

Each Ventus Trekker in the squad increase Wraith's Base ATK.

Tempest Stance

Tempest Stance

Lv. 6

When Wraith triggers Ventus Mark, increases Ventus DMG.

Unseen Predator

Unseen Predator

Lv. 6

Increases the number of Wraith's dodges. Increases Base ATK when dodging.

Raging Battle Will

Raging Battle Will

Lv. 6

After casting the Ultimate, increases Wraith's Base ATK.

  • Dauntless Poise scales Base ATK per Ventus Trekker on the squad — non-negotiable in Mono-Ventus compositions.
  • Tempest Stance increases Ventus DMG on every Ventus Mark trigger, stacking seamlessly with the tornado spam from the Melee build.
  • Unseen Predator is the Melee flex pick: an extra dodge charge to maintain uptime, plus a Base ATK bonus on dodge.
  • Raging Battle Will is the Ranged flex pick: less dash-dependent, so raw ATK% after every Ultimate cast is the better return here.

Build 2: The Ranged Sniper

Precision long-range. Higher ceiling than Melee with perfect execution; more demanding.

Wraith Wraith Recommended Potentials
Storm-Piercing Surge

Storm-Piercing Surge

Lv. 6

The Main Skill's bullets become lasers that track distant targets. Increases the Ventus DMG dealt by Wraith's shots to distant targets.

Wind-Splitting Bullet

Wind-Splitting Bullet

Lv. 6

Increases the number of bullets fired when holding to cast the Main Skill continuously. Increases the Ventus DMG dealt by all Wraith's shots.

Tracewind Blink

Tracewind Blink

Lv. 6

For a short duration after Whirling Onslaught (Main Skill) is cast, enhances Wraith's weapon, during which her Auto Attack shots fire lasers to deal DMG.

Overheat Shot

Overheat Shot

Lv. 6

When casting Whirling Onslaught (Main Skill), increases the Skill DMG of Main Skill's shots.

Scorching Gale

Scorching Gale

Lv. 6

When Wraith's shots deal DMG, increases Skill DMG.

Storm-Piercing Surge converts Main Skill bullets into tracking lasers that reach distant targets. Wind-Splitting Bullet increases bullet count on hold-cast and boosts all Ventus shot damage globally. Tracewind Blink enhances the weapon post-Whirling Onslaught, turning Auto Attack shots into lasers for a brief window. Overheat Shot and Scorching Gale stack Skill DMG multiplicatively — the longer the engagement, the wider the gap over the Melee build.

⚠️ Positioning requirement: This build fails if enemies close the distance. Core Potentials and ranged auto-attacks will not trigger at point-blank range. Maximum-range discipline is mandatory throughout the entire rotation.

Talents

Daybreak Trigger — Talent 1

When Wraith triggers a Ventus Mark, her Skill DMG and Auto Attack DMG each increase by 18% for 10 seconds. At full uptime this provides roughly a purple emblem line of Skill DMG and more than a gold emblem line of Auto Attack DMG — exceptional value for both builds simultaneously.

Righteous Judgment — Talent 2

When Wraith deals Skill DMG, her ATK increases by 2% for 5 seconds, stacking up to 10 times (20% max). The 5-second window makes this the hardest stack to maintain — a reasonable duplicate but the weakest of the five.

Silver Phantom — Talent 3 ⭐ Recommended stopping point

When any Trekker inflicts Ventus Mark on a target, Wraith's Skill DMG and Auto Attack DMG each increase by 18% for 10 seconds. This mirrors Talent 1 but triggers off any Ventus Mark application in the squad — considerably easier uptime. In Mono-Ventus teams this practically doubles the Talent 1 buff window.

Curtain Call — Talent 4

When Wraith deals Auto Attack DMG, her ATK increases by 2% for 5 seconds, stacking up to 10 times (20% max). The on-hit trigger is much easier to maintain than Righteous Judgment's Skill DMG condition, making this consistently the more reliable ATK stack.

Glorious Return to Norstheim — Talent 5

Wraith deals 24% increased Ventus DMG to elite or higher-tier enemies. A generic flat multiplier that benefits both builds equally — the single biggest damage jump across her Talent line.

Recommendation: Stop at T0 for general viability. T3 is the natural milestone for the squad-wide trigger condition. T5 is a significant ceiling boost for endgame content.

Teams

The Premium Mono-Ventus Team

The best available composition. Nazuka Nazuka is the undisputed best-in-slot Ventus support — her buffs and debuffs create the ceiling necessary for Wraith to reach 55k+ potential without the positioning restrictions of lower-tier supports. Nanoha Nanoha rounds out the Mono-Ventus shell, activating Dauntless Poise and Tempest Stance bonuses while contributing her own Ventus Mark cycling.

The Budget Alternative

A functional F2P composition. Nanoha Nanoha provides consistent Ventus Mark application, keeping Daybreak Trigger and Silver Phantom proc'd. The flex slot takes Ann Ann or Canace Canace for additional Ventus coverage. Note that available F2P supports may have positioning awkwardness — support skill ranges that are too far for the Melee build and too close for the Ranged build, requiring deliberate distance management.

Signature Disc: Chronicles of Spring

Wraith's signature disc excels at applying "drifting snow" damage-taken debuffs18% for Auto-Attack damage and 7.5% for Skill damage — which operate on a less saturated multiplier than standard ATK buffs. This makes them worth significantly more than raw ATK% lines at similar investment levels.

The Harmony passive (Verno Zeapir) provides additional value as a stat stick for the whole squad:

  • 6% squad-wide Ventus DMG
  • Up to 18% Auto-Attack Crit DMG and 12% Skill DMG passively — making this disc useful on Nanoha Nanoha even if Wraith doesn't hold it

Emblem Priorities

Level 70: Purple Ventus PEN · Ventus DMG · ATK% · Crit Rate

Level 80: Main Skill +3 · Ventus PEN · Auto Attack DMG (Melee) or Skill DMG (Ranged)

Level 90 — by build:

Build Recommended Emblems
Melee Whirlwind Last Gasp of Gale +3, Twin Shadows +3, Blade's Waltz +3
Ranged Sniper Storm-Piercing Surge +3, Wind-Splitting Bullet +3, Scorching Gale +3

Final Thoughts

Wraith is the most mechanically flexible carry in the current Ventus roster — the only Trekker whose entire combat identity changes based on Potential selection. Her Melee build is accessible and consistent from day one; her Ranged build demands positioning discipline but outperforms Melee with optimal execution.

She sits confidently at T0.5 — the strongest Ventus carry available, clearly above Nanoha Nanoha , and a highly recommended pull for anyone building a competitive Ventus team. Her 55k+ ceiling is real and achievable without signature equipment, and the Chronicles of Spring disc adds further headroom if you want to push further.

Pull advice: Pull at T0 if you want a best-in-class Ventus carry. T3 is the meaningful duplicate milestone. If you're already satisfied with your Ventus roster, she is skippable — but she will not be replaced any time soon.

These insights are based on community theorycrafting and preliminary testing. Experiment with both playstyle builds to find which suits your positioning habits and available content.
