Introduction

Otoha Otoha is a limited 5-Star Umbra Versatile Trekker who functions as both a high-damage on-field carry and a powerful off-field orbital support. Her "exclusive" status — shared only with Snowish Laru Snowish Laru — means she will never enter the standard pool, making her a priority pull for any Umbra-focused player.

Her kit revolves around a high-energy Ultimate called Void Blossom and a short-cooldown Main Skill called Nightbloom. On their own these look straightforward, but her Potential trees transform them into a relentless damage loop that redefines the Umbra meta. She is equally effective as an on-field carry or as an off-field orbital battery, giving her exceptional flexibility.

Skills

Thorn Path — Auto Attack

A rapid multi-hit kunai barrage. Auto attacks have higher-than-average base damage and serve as the primary driver for energy generation and damage procs in on-field builds. Do not treat these as filler.

Nightbloom — Main Skill

A dash-burst that deals cone-AoE Umbra damage and triggers Umbra Mark. Baseline cooldown is 4 seconds, making it the most frequently used ability in Otoha's kit. The short cooldown enables constant repositioning and keeps all damage procs running.

Solemn Echo tip: In single-target encounters, the projectile ricochets back to Otoha, keeping the mechanic fully active even without secondary targets nearby.

Shattered Edge — Support Skill

Deploys Weeping Sky, a forward-moving projectile that deals multi-hit AoE damage. Weeping Sky inflicts Soul Rend, a sustained single-target DoT, and both Weeping Sky and Soul Rend apply Umbra Mark: Gloom. This is currently the best Umbra Mark applicator in the game. Cooldown is 12 seconds.

Void Blossom — Ultimate

A three-hit parasol detonation dealing massive AoE Umbra damage. At a cost of 358 energy and a 40-second cooldown, this is one of the most expensive Ultimates in the game — higher than Fuyuka Fuyuka 's 325 and Shia Shia 's 340. Without her Potential trees providing energy refunds and cooldown reduction, the Ultimate would be nearly unspammable. With them, it becomes the core of her entire damage loop.

Skill Upgrade Priority

Main Skill > Auto Attack > Ultimate | Ignore Support Skill

  • Nightbloom first — core Pink potentials scale with Main Skill level, and your entire damage loop runs off this ability.
  • Auto Attack second — 100% uptime means even small increases add up significantly over time.
  • Ultimate third — improves burst windows and damage ceiling, especially for Ultimate-focused builds.
  • Shattered Edge last — Support Skill damage is secondary; prioritise it only once the others are capped.

Potentials & Builds

Otoha has four primary build configurations. Use the Potential Preset feature to swap between them depending on the content.

On-Field Carry — Ultimate Focus

Best for Boss Blitz and single-target content.

Otoha Otoha Recommended Potentials
Subtle Tremor

Subtle Tremor

Lv. 6

When shooting with Nightbloom (Main Skill), summons Doomfall multiple times. Can trigger Umbra Mark. Upon summoning Doomfall, reduces Ultimate Cooldown and gains Energy.

Hymn of Gloom

Hymn of Gloom

Lv. 6

Moving with Nightbloom (Main Skill) knocks back nearby targets and gains a Shield. While the Shield lasts, continuously gains Energy and summons Doomfall.

Umbral Depth

Umbral Depth

Lv. 6

Dealing Auto Attack DMG summons Doomfall.

Cycle of Four Seasons

Cycle of Four Seasons

Lv. 6

Otoha's Auto Attack increases Auto Attack DMG and Ultimate DMG.

Preset: AAAAkQAAAIcAAACOzbYDAADMAMBgAGwGwAwA

The Subtle Tremor + Hymn of Gloom combo is the engine of this build. Together they supply so much energy and cooldown reduction that the 358-energy barrier on Void Blossom effectively disappears. Doomfall strikes count as Ultimate damage, feeding further into the loop.

On-Field Carry — Skill Focus

Best for Arena and AoE content.

Otoha Otoha Recommended Potentials
Solemn Echo

Solemn Echo

Lv. 6

Bullets fired with Nightbloom (Main Skill) can ricochet multiple additional times.

Petal-Shower Grace

Petal-Shower Grace

The explosion of bullets fired with Nightbloom (Main Skill) can generate multiple small bullets.

Twilight Gleam

Increases the uses of Nightbloom (Main Skill). When casting the Main Skill, increases Otoha's Umbra DMG.

Duskfall

Duskfall

Lv. 6

Increases Skill DMG dealt by Nightbloom (Main Skill) against targets inflicted with Dark Shackles.

Preset: AAAAkQAAAIcAAACOMAbDbYDMSMBgAGwGxAwA

Pair Solemn Echo with Shattered Edge to ensure the ricochet keeps engaging even in single-target fights. This build shines in multi-enemy scenarios where each additional bullet finds a new target.

Off-Field DPS — Ultimate Damage

The "Orbital Strike" configuration.

Otoha Otoha Recommended Potentials
Lonely Twin Shadows

Lonely Twin Shadows

Night-Walker

Night-Walker

When the Main Umbra Trekker deals DMG to a target with Soul Rend, Otoha summons Doomfall, dealing AoE DMG and gaining Energy. Increases Otoha's Ultimate DMG and Ultimate Crit Rate.

Solitary Lantern

Solitary Lantern

Lv. 6

When Otoha deals Ultimate DMG, there is a chance to shoot multiple times. Increases Otoha's Ultimate Crit Rate.

Without A Trace

Without A Trace

Lv. 6

When Shattered Edge (Support Skill) is on cooldown, increases Otoha's Ultimate DMG.

Preset: AAAAbgAAAJEAAACOzbAYAAHNsBsAAGwGwAwA

This configuration turns Otoha into a passive orbital battery from the bench. She fires Doomfall strikes every time the on-field Umbra Trekker hits a Soul Rend target, making her a full second DPS while off-field.

Off-Field Support — Skill / DEF PEN

The "Ripple of Shadow" engine.

Otoha Otoha Recommended Potentials
Ripple of Shadow

Ripple of Shadow

Lv. 6

When Weeping Sky advances, summons additional bombardments to deal AoE DMG. Bombardments have a chance to deal DMG multiple times. Increases DEF PEN dealt by Weeping Sky. Increases Otoha's Skill DMG.

Evening Rain

Evening Rain

Lv. 6

In an all-Umbra squad, summons additional Weeping Sky. Increases DEF PEN dealt by Weeping Sky to targets inflicted with Umbra Mark or Dark Shackles. Increases Otoha's Skill DMG.

Bone-Chilling Rain

Lv. 6

When Weeping Sky deals DMG, increases the target's Umbra DMG Taken.

Inevitable End

Inevitable End

Lv. 6

Increases Weeping Sky's Umbra DMG against elite or higher-tier targets.

Preset: AAAAjgAAAJEAAAB2zDYAADDNsBsAAMAAAGwA

This build maximises Weeping Sky as a DEF PEN tool for the whole squad. Combined with the all-Umbra passive Devouring Shadow, the squad gains the equivalent of 100 DEF PEN — a substantial DPS gain for every member.

Generic Support Potentials

These are worth levelling regardless of which build you use:

Otoha Otoha Recommended Potentials
Shadow Blossom

Shadow Blossom

When Otoha triggers an Umbra Mark, increases her Umbra DMG.

Moonlit Edge

Moonlit Edge

Lv. 6

Increases Base ATK when Otoha casts Void Blossom (Ultimate).

Night Tide Rush

Night Tide Rush

Lv. 6

Void Blossom (Ultimate) triggers Umbra Mark. Increases Otoha's Base ATK.

Devouring Shadow

Devouring Shadow

Lv. 6

In an all-Umbra squad, increases Umbra Trekkers' Umbra DMG.

Murmur of Annihilation

Murmur of Annihilation

Lv. 6

Each Umbra Trekker in the squad increases all Umbra teammates' Umbra DMG.

Critical note: Devouring Shadow requires a full Umbra squad to activate. Do not run mixed-element teams with Otoha — the loss of 100 DEF PEN and squad-wide Umbra bonuses is a net DPS loss that no individual carry can compensate for.

Talents

Otoha's Talents follow a clear curve from utility to raw stats. Stop at Talent 3 for the best return on investment.

Lightless Night — Talent 1

When Otoha deals Skill DMG, increases Umbra DMG Taken by the target by 5% for 6 seconds, stacking up to 3 times (14.1% effective debuff at full stacks). Strong value as it benefits the entire squad, not just Otoha.

Gloomy Reality — Talent 2

When Otoha casts her Ultimate, her Crit DMG increases by 20% for 25 seconds. Straightforward Crit DMG buff for Ultimate-focused builds.

Exotic Flora — Talent 3 ⭐ Recommended stopping point

When Otoha's Ultimate deals damage, increases Crit DMG of all Umbra friendly units by 15% for 6 seconds. While listed as 6 seconds, the timer starts on the Ultimate's final hit. Including the 4-second animation, the effective duration is ~10 seconds — roughly 50% uptime in an optimised loop. This squad-wide Crit DMG buff provides the best ROI of any Talent.

Eye for an Eye — Talent 4

When the squad triggers an Umbra Mark, Otoha's Umbra DMG increases by 20% for 6 seconds. Solid damage increase but no mechanical shifts.

Heart to Heart — Talent 5

Otoha deals 24% increased Umbra DMG to elite or higher-tier enemies. A generic but useful raw damage buff for endgame content.

Teams

Otoha demands a full Umbra squad. Mixed teams lose the 100 DEF PEN from Devouring Shadow, which is a non-negotiable DPS loss.

The Vanguard Meta

Firenze Firenze on-field as the main DPS, Otoha Otoha providing orbital fire support and Soul Rend, Cosette Cosette as Support. Cosette is the preferred Support here over Mistique Mistique for her stronger attack buffs and debuff variety.

The Shadow Trio

Cosette Cosette on-field, Otoha Otoha off-field orbital, Mistique Mistique as flex Support. If using Cosette here, equip Nocturn RIP for the guaranteed Crit Rate to avoid over-capping, rather than the inconsistent Nocturn Mark.

The Budget Alternative

Coronis Coronis provides break assistance while satisfying the all-Umbra requirement for Otoha's passive bonuses. Use Cosette or Mistique in the flex slot.

Emblems & Discs

Emblem Priorities

Level 70: Purple Umbra PEN · Crit Rate · Umbra DMG · ATK%

Level 80: Support Skill +3 · Umbra PEN · Umbra DMG

Critical choice: Pick Purple Crit Rate if using Nocturn Mark on Cosette. Pick Purple ATK% if using Nocturn RIP on Cosette to avoid over-capping Crit.

Level 90 — by build:

Build Recommended Emblems
Ultimate Support (Off-field) Solitary Lantern +3, Without A Trace +3, Murmur of Annihilation +3
Skill Support (Off-field) Inevitable End +3, Bone-Chilling Rain +3, Murmur of Annihilation +3
Skill Main (On-field) Twilight Gleam +3, Shadow Blossom +3, Duskfall +3
Ultimate Main (On-field) Umbral Depth +3, Cycle of Four Seasons +3, Twilight Gleam +3

Disc Loadouts

  • Otoha: Signature Disc, Event Disc, and Firenze Signature (requires an Umbra Trekker to summon).
  • Supports: Freesia Signature and Mistique Signature are standard.
  • Swaps: If Firenze or Mistique are not available, swap to Cataclysm or Finale Echoing to maintain efficiency.

Final Thoughts

Otoha is one of the most powerful units in the Umbra meta and a strong case for being a "must-pull." Her kit passively provides massive free stats to the whole squad: 60% Ultimate Crit Rate, 267% Ultimate DMG, and 67.5% Ultimate Crit DMG through potentials alone — before gear — plus 100 DEF PEN from Devouring Shadow in a full Umbra team.

While she can serve as a competent main on-field carry, her off-field orbital role is where she truly elevates the power ceiling, turning even a below-par carry into a consistent high-scorer. As an exclusive unit, she has a permanent place in the Umbra meta for the foreseeable future.

These insights are based on community theorycrafting and anecdotal testing. Experiment with the preset codes provided to find what works best for your playstyle and available gear.
