Gen

A skilled shipwright who lives in Teien. He is a devoted craftsman who's full of energy, eager to improve, and always on the lookout for jobs worth his while.

As Strong as a Craftsman

Shipwrights have to deal with uncouth hunters all the time, so they are accustomed to ugly scuffles. Gen switches his building tools for a large blade to take on anyone turning their sights on him.

Who Cares About Reform?

The entire reason Gen, the shipwright, has decided to lend his skills to the Liberation Army is to build a ship that can withstand the rapids of Dunan. As a through-and-through craftsman, Gen has no interest in defeating the Empire or achieving world peace. What he values most is **work that lights the flame of his artisanal spirit** and allows him to utilize his skills to the utmost.

Rudeness Arising From Trust

Gen and his neighbor, Kamandol the alchemist, hurl insults at each other whenever they cross paths. However, these scathing remarks are simply their usual greetings. They only interact in this way because they recognize each other's skills and trust one another. This is evidenced by the fact that they can sometimes be seen drinking together.
