Introduction

This guide covers the fastest way to farm Mystery Buttons in NTE’s 999 Nights game mode. The route focuses on Nightmare mode, so you will need to finish every mission in Challenge Mode first. Side quests left unfinished will block progress, so clear those before moving on. A level 100 party with solid gear makes the farm far smoother, so anyone still climbing levels should check the leveling guide first.

The farming party revolves around stacking AoE Eclipseflame and Whitelight Flame effects across four built-in 999 Nights characters.

Gear Setup

Zero

Zero Zero carries the Eclipseflame Longsword as the main weapon. The armor setup uses two pieces of the Whiteflame Ballad set and two pieces of the Nightfall Embers set. For accessories, equip two FateStones. These act as universal replacement pieces, so with two equipped they count as the third and fourth gear pieces and activate both set effects at once.

Mint

Mint Mint uses the Lightdance Twinblades, two pieces of the Sunseeker Light set, and two pieces of the Night Hunt set. Split the set with FateStone accessories the same way as Zero. Running two gear sets on both Zero Zero and Mint Mint lets the party benefit from both Whitelight Flame and Eclipse Flame area effects, and both weapons amplify those effects.

Iroi

Iroi Iroi wears the full Shared Emberdream set and wields the Dayrite Codex. For accessories, use the Twin Necklace: Lumen and Umbra to round out the buffs.

Shinku

Shinku Shinku is the glue of the team. Her weapon is Tempered Flame, which applies Eclipseflame after a perfect dodge and detonates Eclipseflame marks when Menacing Gaze ends. The armor set stays unchanged, but the accessory choice depends on how hands-on you want to be.

For manual farming, equip two Shadow amulets to expand the Eclipseflame mark range. For the semi-AFK route, run two Cinderbone accessories or one Cinderbone and one Unstable Charge. Cinderbone’s DEF buff combined with the Blessed Nightfall effect lets Shinku face-tank whole groups.

Preparing for Nightmare Mode

Once inside Nightmare mode, visit the Mysterious Fuzzy Merchant at the camp and spend all your gold coins on Ultra Sparkle Jars. The jars have a decent chance to drop Mythic weapons, so open them before anything else.

Regardless of your luck, you will still need to farm most Mythic accessories. FateStones are especially important, but their drop rate is low, so expect a long grind. They only drop from boss fights. The Scorpion Boss in Amber Sugar Lake has a solid drop rate, with most FateStones coming from that encounter. The Volcano boss can also drop them.

The remaining accessories can be looted from normal mobs, so save FateStone farming for last and focus on mob-dropped pieces first.

Mythic Accessory Farming Route

For the mob-farming phase, keep Shinku equipped with the Solar Rift weapon. It restores 3 Defiant Spirit whenever she attacks, which lets her spam her skill in both normal and Rampage form and clears groups quickly.

If you put Swiftfeather and Cloudrider Charm on Shinku Shinku alongside Tempered Flame, she starts sprinting at absurd speed in Rampage Form. It looks chaotic, but it makes travel between boss locations much faster.

Mystery Button Farming Spots

Semi-AFK Method

Teleport to the spot shown below and enter the building. The room holds around 20 to 25 enemies. With the proper gear, cast Zero’s skill, Esper Cycle to Mint, swap to Shinku, and let the AoE burn and explosions finish the pack. Once the room is clear, run back to the bonfire to respawn the enemies and repeat.

Manual Method

For the fastest button gains, use the bonfire marked on the map below. Equip Shinku’s Shadow amulets and Tempered Flame, pull enemies near the gate, and perfect-dodge until the pack dies. Return to the bonfire to respawn and keep repeating past 100 kills. At higher kill counts the Shadow amulet range kicks in hard, and the burn plus explosion spreads across a much wider area. The loop still requires input, but it is far faster than running around hunting scattered enemies.

Final Notes

That covers the full Mystery Button farming loop. Get your team and Mythic accessories in order, pick either the semi-AFK room or the manual gate route, and let the Eclipseflame effects do the work. Good luck with the grind.
