Lore

A year has passed since you first arrived at Mythag. The memory of that initial day remains vivid, stepping into the halls of this ancient school still dazed from the aftermath of that cataclysmic explosion. You were given a uniform that fit as though tailored by fate itself, and a dorm room that slowly became a sanctuary. That first visit to the cafeteria, devouring two towering stacks of plates, feels both like yesterday and another lifetime. Those effortless days ended abruptly. Soon enough, it became clear that your knowledge was meager, your mind as untrained as a newborn's. You were assigned to a year of preparatory classes: language drills, grueling physical training, Silver ability assessments, and intense lessons in special biology. You endured it all, with mixed results. You failed your Standard Leonian language class spectacularly, but you also achieved the extraordinary by linking with three Awakeners at once. Overnight, you became something of a legend on campus. Yet it was your raw, peculiar talent that ultimately saved you, propelling you past the threshold to become a full Investigator and sparing you another year in preparatory limbo. Your weaknesses, jagged and undeniable, were slowly softened, covered by the growing trust and skill of your teammates. Ah, your team; devils, perhaps, but reliable and gentle ones. This place, often shrouded in mist and frequent rain, where sunlight is a rare gift, is home to countless souls; some forgotten, some soon to be. Yet they persist. They sacrifice. They move forward. On just such an ordinary, cloud-threaded day, Mythag welcomes another School Day. You stand before the mirror, adjusting your collar, smoothing each wrinkle into place. Then you push open the heavy door of the dormitory. "Yawn. Finally here. I was almost asleep." "What were you doing, hatching in your room? Studying, freshman?" You offer a sheepish chuckle to Lotan, shrink reflexively from the pink-clad figure that stirs a primal unease, and take shelter behind the calm presence of Ramona and Ogier, already smiling in quiet amusement. Five shadows lengthen and sway in the pale morning light. "Let's go, partner." "From today, you are truly a part of Mythag."
