Lore

Humans are creatures who love to sing, and so are the people of Wild Star. Melodies rise freely from their throats, without any intention or purpose. Scattered by the wind into stray notes, they fade away with passing emotions. It is said that every wandering tribe in the desert has its own songs. But the Desolate-born lost theirs. Along with their song, they also lost their name. No one knows what the planet was originally called. It is a cursed world, scorched by drought, storms, famine... Disasters came one after another, until the planet was utterly broken. The rich and powerful, dressed in finery, boarded arks and left. The planet became desolate, home only to the unblessed, the lowly. All of them were abandoned. Since then, the Desolate-born decided they needed no laughter, no poetry, and no songs. They will remember the pain of abandonment, forever crawling through the white desert, until the day the planet ends.
