Lore
The connection between the witch and the wide-brimmed hat is sometimes like the relationship between the chicken and the egg; it's hard to distinguish whether the hat made the witch or the witch made the hat. But anyway, Daffodil possesses such an elegant wide-brimmed hat. This hat originally belonged to the former shopkeeper, back when Daffodil's name did not yet belong to her. She was merely a confused ghost, subdued and bewildered, like an ignorant beast. The woman who always smiled took her, patiently teaching her, as one would teach a child, little by little, how to be a "person," and the secrets to interacting with others. The bustling port city gathered the richest crystallizations of human culture at that time. The street where the exchange shop is located featured a plethora of shops, covering a vast array of items, and the shopkeeper always seemed to chat with all the shop owners as if they were old friends. "She's really amazing," Daffodil thought back then, "but it's not strange; no one could dislike her." The shopkeeper enjoyed shopping, so for the first time in millennia, Daffodil, who had always played the part of a human whose head she had severed, was asked to give her opinion. "Which one do you think looks better? This little top hat or this wide-brimmed hat?" The woman tried on an array of dazzling hats in front of the mirror. To Daffodil, they were merely props to wrap her body and make herself look more human. But that day, as she watched the shopkeeper wearing the wide-brimmed hat like a giant flower on her head, an image suddenly emerged in her mind of the woman wearing such a hat, and the two of them strolling on the beach. "This one," she suddenly said, "just this one." The shopkeeper turned back in surprise, as if she hadn't expected Daffodil to express her preferences so clearly. "Alright, it is indeed a beautiful hat. Since you chose it for me, I will cherish it well." Whether it was to encourage Daffodil or not, this hat, just as the shopkeeper promised, became a permanent adornment on her head until the final moment when it was handed over to Daffodil by the shopkeeper, along with her smiling head. "What a lovely hat, I will definitely cherish it well." The gorgeous purple-black flowers finally bloomed on the new owner's head.
