CV Excerpt 4
A pendant Kasimira gave Chaton during a mission.
Kasimira has a tradition of giving her squad members a lucky charm right before their first major operation.
Chaton's pendant, however, features an incredibly rare purple gemstone set in an intricate metal frame. Seems that it carries a lot of thoughts and expectations from her captain.

—Kasimira
Hmm... Chaton is a sharpshooter and a skilled gamer. She often comes over to play games with me and Noya, but her sudden movements often startle Inky. That's why Inky hides away whenever Chaton shows up.

TA Feedback
Since so many of the White Cat Troupe's records are missing—and because Chaton is notoriously bad at paperwork—we hit a few roadblocks while logging her file. However, after cross-referencing her own stories with details from her guardian, we're confident the information checks out.

Appendix
Due to the highly unusual nature of Chaton's weapon and Captain Kasimira's fierce refusal to let us confiscate it, we have reached a compromise:
Chaton is admitted to the White Cat Troupe, overseen by the Third Squad.
Shooting to the Beat
Her playlist was a complete mystery, but her pre-mission ritual wasn't: the moment she set up for a sniper shot, those headphones went on.
Then, keeping time with the beat, she would squeeze the trigger—one rhythmic shot after another.
Deep in the historic district of Mirage, a dusty warehouse held stacks of wooden crates stamped with the White Cat Troupe's crest. Tucked away inside those boxes was the troupe's entire history.
Beside the crates lay a few threadbare wool blankets. For a very long time, this was where the troupe's "reserve members" actually lived.
But being cooped up in a dusty warehouse as a mere trainee bored the newly recruited Chaton out of her mind.
So, doing exactly what any curious kid her age would do, she started digging through the crates.
Eventually, at the very bottom of a box labeled "Musical Artifacts," she unearthed a strange little gadget.
It looked like a game controller, but it lacked the classic cross-shaped D-pad she'd seen on the ones the older members used.
Curiosity got the better of her, and she started fiddling with it. She quickly figured out that each colored button produced a different note, while the device played a backing melody. If she hit the right button at the exact right moment, it let out an incredibly crisp, satisfying chime.
Chaton stared at the toy, deep in thought, until a sudden realization hit her.
"Isn't this just like shooting?"
"You just need to pull the trigger at the perfect moment, right?!"
She mastered the game in no time, but a simple toy like that was never going to keep her entertained for long.
During her very first mission to the Monolith with the Third Squad, Chaton ditched her team and made a beeline straight for the arcade.
For a Trekker stepping into the Monolith for the first time, it was a wildly dangerous stunt.
But that didn't seem to bother Chaton in the slightest.
As Kasimira waited anxiously at the entrance, debating whether to charge back in after her, Chaton casually strolled out. Cradled in her arms was a pair of headphones she'd just wished for.
Kasimira gave her a blistering scolding, but the rest of the squad was absolutely floored by her raw talent.
On her first-ever trip inside, she had not only conquered several arcade machines entirely on her own...
But also casually stumbled upon a Wishing Box on her way out, using it to conjure up headphones pre-loaded with all her favorite tunes.
The Origin of the Dark Power
Gunfire and the clash of steel echoed endlessly through the streets.
Townspeople locked their doors or huddled in basements for safety. Back then, battles of this scale were just another night in Mirage.
But the flames and shouting soon drew monsters from the desert. Lured by the scent of blood, they swarmed the town, plunging the battlefield into absolute chaos.
As one mercenary band fell back, someone spotted a monster lunging at a child in a narrow alley.
A gunshot cracked through the night.
The bullet tore into the beast, shattering it into dust right before the child's eyes.
The child looked up at her rescuer. Raised among mercenaries, she knew only one rule: stick with the strong to survive.
Without a word, she grabbed the mercenary's sleeve.
But with the battlefield in total disarray, no one had the luxury of dragging a kid along. Desperate, the mercenary blurted out a line from a video game he'd played that morning:
"Once you unlock your dark power, you can become a sharpshooter and join us!"
Weapon Anecdote: Cat Wand: Uncompleted Codex Entry MK Ⅰ
Over time, local mercenaries turned this into a business: scavenging these lost weapons from the sands to sell back in town.
A young Chaton would often tail these squads.
After they finished sweeping an area and moved on, she'd sneak in to collect whatever weapons or spare parts they'd missed.
Once, while rummaging behind a dune, she startled a monster buried in the sand.
It lunged at her, scaring her so badly she ran for her life.
Over dunes, past rocks and shattered weapons—she dodged desperately through the wasteland.
But the hungry beast relentlessly gave chase.
Cornered, Chaton ducked into the shadow of a massive boulder.
As she paused to catch her breath, her hand brushed against something cold and metallic—a snow-white gun barrel.
Digging the sand away along the barrel, she soon unearthed a fully intact sniper rifle.
The moment her fingers wrapped around the grip, the dormant weapon stirred to life.
Deep within its chamber, purple energy began to pulse, as if forging a link with her very soul.
Right then, the monster tracked her scent to her hiding spot, its hulking frame looming over the rock.
In a panic, Chaton raised the rifle and pulled the trigger.
The shot blasted the monster, instantly disintegrating it into a cloud of dust.
It was almost the exact same scene from that fateful night years earlier.
The same crack of a gunshot. The same monster. The same fallen enemy.
Chaton stood completely frozen.
Then, she hugged the rifle tightly to her chest.
"Yes! I've finally unlocked my dark power!"
She cheered.
A brand-new chapter in Chaton's story had just begun, and she dubbed her new weapon the Uncompleted Codex Entry.
