Spooky Cookies is the haunted house in Pukaland’s Cakehill, and clearing it completes the Anomaly Commission No Rest for the Cookies. It is also listed under the Pukaland Travelogue event. It plays like an escape room: you explore a large castle in first person, collect the key items that break its seals, and make your way to the exit while Ghost Butlers roam the halls. With so many rooms and only a flashlight and a few candles for light, it is easy to lose your bearings.

How It Works

The flashlight

Your special flashlight drains battery while it is on. Its UV mode drains the battery faster, but it reveals hidden Ghost Butlers and concealed mechanisms such as secret cabinets and doors. You can also spend battery on a Flash, which briefly stuns most Ghost Butlers and activates certain mechanisms around the house. Three direct Flash hits defeat a ghost, unless it is wearing sunglasses.

Fright

Running out of battery or getting jump-scared by a Ghost Butler raises your Fright. When Fright reaches its maximum the run ends with a low rating. Spare Batteries recharge the flashlight and Courage Spray lowers Fright, so pick up both whenever you see them.

Score

Three things add to your final score: the side objectives, which change from run to run, the loot you pick up on the way to the exit, and the rare items hidden in particular rooms. Spookhouse Flyers, Gingerbread Guests and The Count’s Treasure are the collectibles, and the Gingerbread Guests and The Count’s Treasure add more to it than the flyers.

Walkthrough

The Castle Lobby and the room on the right

Head to the Castle Lobby and explore it, then enter the room on the right. Grab the ice cream on the table, the Spooksicle, and sprint towards an exit to break the seal.

In the next stretch, Flash the pumpkin on top of the shelf to open a path to the next room, and grab the hidden items along the way. Ghosts take a moment to finish their summon animation, so you can run past some of them before they start moving. Stunning a ghost and running is a valid option, as long as you keep an eye behind you afterwards.

The Hexbreaker Candy and the left room

The next objective sends you to collect the Hexbreaker Candy on the left. Some ghosts keep chasing you here, and when one does, turn around and fight it off with the Flash. Use the Hexbreaker Candy to break the seal on the left room.

The four Spookstones

To get the Candy Key you need all four Spookstones, spread through the house, including a storage room full of pumpkins and shelves. In the hall with the stained-glass windows, sprint through to avoid triggering more ghost spawns.

Once you are carrying all four, submit them at the altar.

The Candy Key

Wait for the seal around the altar to fade, then grab the Candy Key. Return it to its owner, who is waiting by the portrait, and the objective moves on to visiting The Count.

Boss: The Count

Go to the second floor of the hallway to unlock the boss room, and get ready for the fight.

  • Block its path. Stand where you cut off The Count’s route, so it cannot zoom around the room.
  • Wait for the shield to drop. The pattern is simple: hold your Flash until its shield is down, then hit it.
  • Two Flash hits in a row bring the shield back up, and you wait for it to drop again.
  • Back off when it starts circling.

It takes at least 10 hits to defeat The Count. Repeat the cycle until it goes down, then head for the exit to escape Spooky Cookies.
