Machina, the new Fire element Supporter, stands out as a clear upgrade to Pluto, with some caveats. Those interested in running a cleave team in pvp will be most interested in this new character
Why Machina?
Pros:
In addition to Boosting the teams Critical Damage, she also increases their Attack Gauge, helping slower units, like attack-heavy DPS get their turn sooner
Cons:
Stuns herself after her ultimate (though speed tuning Chloe to go right after her can mitigate this downside)
Is the same element as Pluto and has almost the same exact stats (not Enough of an upgrade from a f2p character)
Buffing Crit Damage is riskier than Buffing Crit Rate, as it is heavily reliant on the Crit Rate of the attacking character.
Trades Pluto's aoe Defense Break for a conditional 30% dmg increase
Final Verdict
Q: Should you pull for Machina?
A: Not unless you Really like the character.
She is absolutely an upgrade to Pluto, and as long as you stack enough crit rate on your DPS she can help dish out Far more damage than Pluto can. However spending Limited pulls or your Pity currency on her you would expect the upgrade to be Far more than it is. The truth is that you may be better off just using Pluto, sacrificing a little top end damage, and saving those pulls or pity currency for a better, more impactful unit.
