Konami has published the list of changes coming to Suikoden STAR LEAP, split into two waves: one landing in the first half of September 2026, a larger one from the second half onward. It is the most substantial answer yet to the friction players have been reporting — material grinding, enemies that stall a fight, and menus that forget what you told them.

Each item is announced in-game once it actually ships, so the list below is what is planned rather than what is already live.

First Half of September

Trading Post

  • More sale slots, so each town displays a longer list of goods.
  • Material appearance rates and the draw method are being adjusted so the material you are actually after is easier to land.
  • The Kaku Town trading post gains more kinds of material.

The first two matter most if you run the buy-low sell-high loop as your main source of Potch — a longer display list and a friendlier draw both raise what a single circuit is worth.

Exchange

  • The Orhan Coin exchange adds quality 1 and quality 2 versions of each gem.

Gathering and Shops

  • Fishing, hunting and vegetable harvesting are being adjusted so you can target a specific ingredient instead of fishing for it in both senses.
  • Item shops outside the village start stocking ingredients and other goods.
  • The Bounty board gains more quests.

Battle

  • Enemies carrying guard traits get their balance values reduced, so breaking them takes less work.
  • Some enemies use unbalance attacks less often.
  • Some enemies call for reinforcements less often.

Chinchirorin

  • Balance changes across all three modes: 無風, さざ波 and 波乱.

Second Half of September and Later

Kitchen

For group meals: opening the kitchen from a companion’s detail screen now auto-selects that companion’s special group meal. Missing ingredients become visible while you are still picking a dish, and the game shows at a glance which companions have a special group meal available at all.

For processing: missing ingredients are visible at selection time here too.

Trading Post and Item Shops

  • Bulk buy and bulk sell arrive at the trading post; item shops get bulk buy.
  • The high-price buyback list is merged into the sell screen.
  • Ingredients on the buy screen sort by type, and the sell screen shows at a glance what can actually be sold.
  • The headquarters item shop’s line-up grows, and — with some exceptions — its stock becomes randomised.

Blacksmith

  • A character filter.

Character List and Detail

  • Craft armor directly from a character’s detail screen when a slot is empty.
  • The back button in the top-right returns you to the screen you came from, rather than somewhere else.
  • Bookmark any companion to pin them to the top of the list.
  • Limit break count is shown while selecting a character.
  • A role filter.

Party Setup

  • Saved party slots for battle content go up to eight.
  • A reposition button moves to the top of the party screen.

Battle

Auto-battle gets three changes: different behaviour against enemies with guard traits, it stops spending Specials on enemies that are nearly dead, and when a combo is available it keeps that state alive while attacking normally.

Beyond auto:

  • Combos are being changed so that landing one no longer hands the enemy extra actions or clears its unbalance.
  • Knockdown is being extended, so a knocked-down enemy stays out of the fight longer.
  • A passive that clears unbalance no longer delays your own action when it triggers.
  • Enemies become easier to tap.

Battle Content

  • Duels: the ones that interrupt travel in Chapter 2 are removed.
  • Bounty: the clear screen gains a quest list button, and Next becomes Repeat.
  • Phantom Duel: the difficulty select screen shows Memoria abilities.
  • Loot Expedition: the presentation is sped up throughout.

Everywhere Else

  • Ability Training: the Exp. claim button appears every 24 hours or on hitting the level cap, instead of every hour.
  • Storytelling: scenarios such as facility unlocks are added.
  • Global UI: sort and filter settings are remembered.
  • Options: a setting for low-RAM devices.

What Players Should Know

The combat changes are the ones that alter how you play rather than how fast you click. Lower balance values on guard enemies and rarer unbalance attacks both shorten the fights that currently drag; the combo change removes the situation where using a combo actively costs you tempo. Until they land, the existing unbalance and positioning rules still apply.
