Thirteen armor sets arrived with the latest update and most of them are not worth the materials. Four are pure filler, several more compete with sets you already own and lose. Five are worth crafting, and one of those is the best armor set in the game.
Sets have no names in the equipment screen — you tell them apart by their bonus, which is what the game shows you when you inspect a piece. Every set below is listed by its effect for that reason.
Craft These Five
Element weak damage on Earth affliction
2-set: element weak damage taken +10% for 5 seconds when attacking an enemy with Earth affliction.
The best new armor set, and it is not close. Put it on both Francises and on anything supporting
Brisshell
, whose kit applies permanent Earth affliction on its own — the condition is simply always met, so the 10% is effectively unconditional.
Fire damage on special, Fire damage on affliction
2-set: Fire +7.5% for 5 seconds on special. 4-set: Fire +7.5% when hitting an enemy with Fire affliction.
A straight upgrade over the Hahnul set and usable on every fire main DPS. Craft this for whoever carries your fire team.
Teammates’ Earth damage on support skill
2-set: teammates’ Earth +7.5% for 5 seconds on support skill. 4-set: support damage +7.5% for 5 seconds on switch skill.
Craft the helmet and gloves and stop there. The 4-set is useless, but the 2-set stacks with the Earth affliction set above, which is what makes an Earth team’s supports worth building.
Target wind resistance, teammates’ crit rate
2-set: target’s wind resistance -6% for 5 seconds on hitting with a special skill. 4-set: teammates’ crit rate +6% for 5 seconds on using tagout.
Effectively a Jiwon set. Worth it if you play her, skippable otherwise.
Crit rate on switch skill
2-set: crit rate +5% for 5 seconds on switch skill. 4-set: Lightning +7.5% for 5 seconds on special skill.
The 2-set is fine on supports without being necessary. The 4-set does little while the Avardan set exists, so treat this as a two-piece and nothing more.
Skip These
The four Attack Neutralization sets — Ice, Wind, Lightning and Earth, each +7.5% at two pieces — are dead weight. Do not spend materials on any of them.
Two more are near-misses rather than filler:
- Ice damage on special (+7.5% for 5 seconds) loses to a
Custos
4-set for a weaker and more conditional effect. - Ice on basic, crit rate on Ice affliction is a Custos sidegrade at best, and more often a downgrade.
