Shinku: Rotation & Team Composition Guide

Shinku is a Cosmos-element burst DPS who relies on her empowered skill and Rampage form to deal most of her damage. At A0 she reaches her full potential once you manage her two resources and team reactions correctly. This guide breaks down her kit, the best low-investment team, gear choices, and a step-by-step rotation so you can get the most out of her without extra copies.

How Shinku’s Kit Works

Shinku’s abilities change depending on whether she is in her normal or Rampage state. Understanding the two resources that power these states is the first step to playing her well.

Menacing Gaze & Defiant Spirit

While Shinku is on the field and not actively attacking, she builds up to eight stacks of Menacing Gaze. She gains one stack per second, and a successful Critical Dodge also adds a stack. When she uses her Skill or a Counter/Redirect, she consumes every Menacing Gaze stack, deals bonus damage, and gains Defiant Spirit. Once she has enough Defiant Spirit she enters Surging Crimson state, also called her Rampage form.

Rampage Form & Fading Reason

Inside Rampage form Shinku’s basic attack chain and Skill are replaced by stronger versions. She now uses Fading Reason instead of Defiant Spirit, and she builds Fading Reason by landing basic attacks, counters, and parries. Fading Reason is what lets her cast the empowered Skill repeatedly during the burst window.

Ultimate Finisher

When Rampage form is about to end, you can tap the Ultimate button up to three times to make Shinku dash through the target for extra damage. After the final dash she automatically casts a finisher that deals massive Cosmos damage. Timing these taps correctly is a large part of her burst output.

Best Team for A0 Shinku

Shinku’s best A0 lineup is built around the Charge reaction, which gives the active character extra Ultimate Energy when Blossom turrets hit a Remora-marked enemy. The team needs one Lakshana character for Remora, one Anima character for Blossom, and an instant-cycle partner to keep the loop moving.

Nanally

• Shinku is the main DPS and the on-field Rampage user.
• Skia applies an extra Remora mark with his redirect skill through his Suppression support skill. At A0 this is more valuable than a longer Remora duration because Shinku’s rotation window is tight.
• Zero provides instant Esper Cycle and triggers Blossom with Nanally . Cast Ultimate before Skill to bank the instant cycle.
• Nanally is the Anima sub-DPS. Her More Than Passionate support skill fires ten Vita Pistils with a one-second interval instead of the default two, which charges Shinku’s empowered Skill much faster. Her Ultimate summons the Underboss and deals follow-up damage while she is on the field.

Without Skia, Hathor is a solid replacement. Her support skill extends Remora to twelve seconds and grants 10% Crit Rate against marked targets. The longer duration shines in higher-investment rotations, while the extra Remora application from Skia fits the shorter A0 window.

Gear & Character Setup

Shinku

• Arc: Blushing Mirage is the best-in-slot signature Arc and is obtainable as a free-to-play player. A Time Will Come is a usable alternative while you work toward her signature.
• Console: Lost Radiance is the recommended cartridge set. The main stat should be Crit Rate.
• Modules: Look for Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and ATK% substats. Aim for roughly 2,000+ ATK, 70-100% Crit Rate, and 100-120% Crit DMG.
• Ability priority: Unlock both support skills, then level Skill and Ultimate as high as possible.

Skia

• Arc: Good Boy’s Grand Adventure for the ATK buff after casting Ultimate.
• Console/Modules: Any pieces that let him survive and use his rotation are fine.
• Ability priority: Max his Suppression support skill. Get Awakening level 4 to extend his tail state to twelve seconds, which helps Remora uptime cover Shinku’s full rotation.

Zero

• Arc: Blow Up the Crowd for a 10% ATK buff.
• Console: Speedy Hedgehog cartridge for another 15% team ATK after Ultimate.
• Ability priority: Just unlock the tools needed to cycle. Esper abilities and Awakening are low priority.

Nanally

• Ability priority: Unlock the More Than Passionate support skill. That single enhancement is the only thing she strictly needs for this team.

Rotation Breakdown

This is the full A0 rotation that TouchMeNot demonstrates in the video. Practice the swap timing, because some character skills continue even after you switch characters mid-animation.

1. Build Menacing Gaze. Stand on Shinku until she reaches eight Menacing Gaze stacks.
2. Spend the stacks. Cast Shinku’s Skill, then build four more stacks so you have enough Cycle Energy for Skia’s Esper Cycle and enough Defiant Spirit to enter Rampage form later.
3. Arc buff. Cast Shinku’s Ultimate to trigger the Arc buff, then cast her Skill again to apply three Phantom Cast stacks.
4. Zero buff. Swap to Zero and immediately cast Ultimate, then Skill. Quick swap to Nanally.
5. Nanally cycle. Nanally casts Ultimate, then Skill. In the middle of her Skill animation, quick swap back to Shinku.
6. Enter Rampage. Shinku uses Ultimate to enter her Rampage form.
7. Burst window. Perform basic attack chains and spam the empowered Skill up to five times.
8. Finisher. Tap Ultimate up to three times for dashes, then let the finisher animation play out.

After the finisher you should have enough Cycle Energy to Esper Cycle with Skia and repeat the loop. On later cycles you may not enter Rampage form immediately. In that case, use basic attacks while the Vita Pistils from Blossom continue charging your energy until Rampage is ready.
